Nan Phillips takes great joy in creating beautiful, meaningful, three-dimensional pieces of glass artwork from flat sheets of glass – cutting and grinding the individual pieces, fitting each piece together like a puzzle, then carefully kiln-firing the glass to achieve her desired shape and texture. Nan creates both functional and artistic glass artwork, along with sculptural artwork in other mediums, and she hopes to share the joy of her art with you.
Nan has been in business since 1999 as Nan Phillips Art Glass and Sculpture. She creates glass artwork and sculpture, plus figurative and abstract sculpture in other mediums. Nan sells her artwork, teaches classes in both stained glass and fused glass, and works with many local art groups. She opened her own teaching studio in 2008 and offers weekly classes in the art of both stained glass and fused glass. (Classes temporarily suspended due to the Pandemic.)
As part of the Dallas-area art community, Nan is the current President and a founding member of Texas Jewish Arts Association, and Past President of Texas Sculpture Association. She has been publishing the Sculpture Association’s weekly newsletter since 2008. She is a member of both the Arts Incubator of Richardson Advisory Board, and the Richardson Arts Alliance Board of Directors. Nan has served on the Program Advisory Committee of Richland College School of Business; and she is a graduate of Leadership Richardson, Class XXXII.
