Urban Artist Market announces their first-ever “Best of Show” Juried Competition and are accepting submissions now via WESTAF CaFÉ through April 30, 2021.

“I am truly excited to be recognizing our artists while presenting their work,” said Urban Artist Market Producer Christopher Miller.

“Artists will be evaluated on proficiency and excellence of their craft.”

Artists may submit in the following disciplines:

  • painting
  • printmaking/photography/digital art
  • mixed media/encaustic/mosaic
  • leather/fiber art/wearable art
  • jewelry design
  • sculpture
  • ceramics/pottery
  • woodworking
  • basketry
  • glass art
  • metal smithing
  • drawing

The prestigious Arts & Culture Texas Magazine will be announcing the winners to their subscribers, and the winners will also be displayed on the Urban Artist Market site. The artist’s showcase will take place on June 12 at the Dallas/Addison Marriott Quorum by the Galleria.

One submission will be selected as “Best of Best of Show” and will receive a gift certificate from the Creative Arts Center of Dallas. All works must be original, non-manufactured concepts of the artist.

Jurors include Diana Pollak, Executive Director of the Creative Arts Center; Brett Dyer, Professor of 2D Studio Art, Faculty of North Lake College; and Roberta Masciarelli, Assemblage Artist and curator of Addison Circle Art Center.

If recognized work on display is not that of a current Urban Artist Market gallery member, the Urban Artist Market retains 15% commission if it is sold during the event. To apply, CLICK HERE.
