ADDISON, TEXAS: The Fourth Urban Artist Market will be held on May 8-9 at the Addison Conference Centre. The Urban Artist Market features the work of more than 75 regional artisans and attracts hundreds of art patrons.
“Local art is a vital contributor to the growth of a community and its economy,” said Urban Artist Market Event Producer Christopher Miller. “The mission of the Urban Artist Market is to recognize local artistic talent, while providing them with the necessary tools and environment in selling their own work. I’m very proud of the recognition our show is receiving.”
Urban Artist Market opens with a Best of Show reception and fundraiser benefiting the mission of the Emergency Artists’ Support League (EASL) on Friday, May 8, from 6 – 9 p.m. Attendees will view the work of the Best of Show awardees in the lobby, get early access to the show floor, while enjoying live music, drinks and appetizers. They will also be able to participate in the silent auction which raises funds for EASL. Tickets are available to the public.
On Saturday, May 9, the show floor will be open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Activities scheduled throughout the day include unique Mother’s Day art workshops led by some of Dallas’ most talented teachers. Children’s workshops are sponsored by the Creative Arts Center.
“Our fourth market will continue to raise awareness and funds for a worthy cause,” said Miller. “I’m thrilled that we will be raising money for the Emergency Artists’ Support League and their efforts. This is an incredible organization that provides emergency assistance to visual artists in the North Texas region and educational grants to emerging artists.”
Tickets for the Best of Show Reception on Friday night are $20. On Saturday, admission is $10 at the door and children under 12 are admitted free. Parking is free. Purchase tickets to the event by visiting urbanartistmarket.com.
